A new year, a new name. Now High Spirits. There is beer, unlisted on the menu, in an unlit fridge.
September 2016 (as Caffeine & Cocktails)
So the old operators have gone (as part of the general shake-down of the larger property) but a new name and a similar operation has resurfaced as Caffeine & Cocktails. Long, narrow and dim interior, concrete scree floor, herringbone white wall tiling, pot plants that look starved of light. Annoyingly OTT barman. As per the name, it’s all about cocktails (though I noted BrewDog and Estrella in the fridge). Happy hour 2x cocktails for 8 quid so went for that and to be fair they were decent. Too impersonal feel for me, perhaps it might appeal to others.
