I can only echo what the previous reviewer has said about this pub. It's a relic from a bygone era, a classic rural English local.

The draught choice here is very limited and you won't find cask ales or real cider. Bottles are the best option. We tried a cider from Ty Gwyn. Local Gwatkin cider is also available.

But the real highlight here is the pub itself. The pub garden appears to be a graveyard and we arrived to see some guy in a vintage army uniform at the front door. Even the locals didn't really know why he was wearing it. But it only added to the mystique.

Much of the main room has been sealed off for Covid precautions. But that still left some bench seating in one corner, where we chatted to the landlady and a handful of other customers.

Traditional bar games such as quoits and table skittles can be played in normal times and there is much to admire on the walls and scattered around. As could be expected, the gents were outdoors.

A timeless village local that was certainly the highlight of this trip to Herefordshire.

Quite possibly the best pub ever. No jukebox, telly, any ambient sound.....chairs ranged along both walls, an original bar skittles takes pride of place. Open fires at both ends of this one-room pub. Excellent local cider. Come and drink like you were in the 1920s, share your day with other villagers in the quiet. Words fail me as to what a gem this pub is. Great, grassy beer garden adjacent to the medieval church with carved animals of various descriptions scattered about. Amazing.
