Dukes is the bar at the rather nice Royal Hotel. As you walk into reception the bar is to the right. On a Monday, early afternoon there were quite a lot of ladies who lunch in. I leaned on the bar and chatted to the friendly staff. Two handpumps on the bar pulling White Rat and Rock The Boat Yellow Submarine Special which was in good nick. A total contrast to the nearby Victoria. I was pretty impressed all round to the extent that Ms CAMRA and I stayed here for two nights a couple of weeks later.
