Komakino . left this review about The Courtyard Bar @ Last Drop Village Hotel

Steve's review remains a concise description of this hotel bar. No real ale available and a pint of Dortmunder Union Export lager (which sounded more like a German football club) came in at an eye-watering £5.90.

Steve C left this review about The Courtyard Bar (Last Drop Village Hotel)

This lounge bar is next to the reception of the Last Drop Village Hotel and is pretty much what one would expect from a hotel bar from the high prices to polite corporately trained barman in his smart uniform. There is one hand pump on the bar in amongst the few draught options, but this was unused during my visit although I am aware that Last Drop ale is usually served up. Food is served and can be eaten in the bar area or separate restaurant opposite, but it is very expensive for what it is.

It is not the biggest space, but there is enough seating and the sunken area towards the front has nice views out of the enormous windows. There is not much interesting to look at in here as the décor is pretty low key, but there are a large number of caricatures of 80s celebrities and sportsman (Dennis Tayloy, Bobby George, Cilla Black, Jon Pertwee dressed as Worzel Gummidge etc) who I imagine have used the hotel at some point. There is also an old TV that was resting on a ledge and showing a football match on Sky Sports which was then turned onto some soap when a couple of old dears entered the bar.

I’d prefer to drink in the Drop Inn which is the pub on this large Mercure hotel complex.
