A one-time canalside pub which might be again if the canal restoration goes ahead, but for now is on the edge of a housing estate. The main floor is up on former canal level, with a large garden outside, possibly in what was once the canal basin. The car park and a further garden are below at the back. The two rooms either side of the little central counter are labelled lounge and bar, but there is not much difference - both are tidily and tastefully furnished and decorated, with a slightly middle class feel. Cask ales on were Bass, Tribute, TT Landlord, London Pride and Cheltenham Gold. Food seemed popular and included a good range of homemade specials alongside the corporate Punch stuff, making this a handy lunch stop just a few minutes off the M1.

The Navigation is a few mins walk from the middle of Breaston it is right next to the canal bridge which goes over the now closed derby canal,this used to be an Ind Coope pub years ago we went in recently and there was Pedigree and Bass on the bar the pub is on different levels with locals on one and diners on the other the pub was fairly busy with both on our visit.
