Vibrant local is the short description of this one, half three on a Friday and the place was packed with happy drinkers, the landlady/ barmaid doing an amazing job with at least three orders in her head at once - respect! Just the one pull here, Great Newsome Sleck Dust on my visit and not in bad nick - less is more, there’s a selection of the usual kegs but look closer and there’s some interesting stuff. Two bars but only one had anyone in. Modern decor with a pool table, machine and multiple screens. Carpet and banquette seating, jukebox, there looks to be a smoking area cum garden out back.

The Star Inn is a typical town pub and the sort of pub i like to go in,once inside i went in the room to the right this room was packed and had a good atmosphere to it.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of John Smiths cask and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Taylor Landlord and Theakston mild.
I thought this was a decent enough pub but would have enjoyed it more if it was a bit quieter.
