A reasonably 'new bar on the block' when I visited in October 2010. It's a big open space with beer hall style tables on one side and low style tables and sofas on the other. It's all a bit too bright and sanitised to have a proper beer hall atmosphere though, and the choice of music didn't help. Two handpumps with Abbot and Jennings Cumberland. There's a decent bottled range and I spotted a Delerium Tremens, a Rochfort 10 and a Chimay Red. The latter, at £4, was served to me in an Erdinger vase which I thought just about summed up the amount of thought they have put into the place. For me it promised a lot but delivered little. On the plus side the quiz machine was particularly generous to me.
