Old Boots left this review about The Deramore Arms

Generally a U shape with three discrete seating areas, probably the remains of two or three small rooms. The L shaped counter is front and centre and there’s a corridor like space on the right which leads back to a seating area with a pool table, the front is more old pubby with wood panelling, banquettes at tables and comfy seats. The front left retains some older fittings in dark wood, cream walls or wallpaper predominate. Books and games are available in the front left room. The counter houses eight pulls split 3:5 by a residual wall, a choice is offered of Taylors Landlord on two pulls, Deuchars, Black Sheep Bitter, Abbot, or Leeds Pale, there’s also a quad T-bar of mid end nationals.

A very tidy old pub, perhaps suffering from too many regimented ranks of tables but pleasant nonetheless. Bright areas extend down either side of the central bar, going quite a long way back to a patio area with its own ice cream parlour in an outbuilding. A fair selection of mainly Yorkshire ales on offer: I went for the Rudgate Ruby Mild which was very drinkable. Perhaps a slight split personality in apparently trying to appeal to both students and the well-heeled locals, but was great on a quiet afternoon.

The Deramore Arms is in a village setting and close to York university.
This is quite a nice looking pub and once inside there was one room that had lots of different drinking areas, the bar was in the middle and there were drinking areas around it the front right had a stone floor and the left was carpeted and there was a pool table at the back of the pub.
The pub had an olde worlde feel to it and was the sort of pub i like to have a drink in.
On the beer front there were six real ales i had a drink of York Terrier and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Tetley bitter,Black Sheep Golden Sheep, Balck Sheep Ale, Shepherd Neame Spitfire and Deuchars IPA.
There were quite a few students in here but there was plenty of space to drink in,i quite liked this pub.
