Formerly a club housed in a private house style building. The inside is basically one large square room with a conservatory added at the front and the counter at the back. This has 8 pumps of changing, usually interesting beers from smaller breweries with the odd national/regional’s ale. Décor is an interesting mix of cigarette cards and old posters most with a military or Imperial theme, unsurprisingly given the pub's name, although the atmosphere is far better than the last days of the Raj. The pub is well known for its support of Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion. The service and beer quality is excellent much like a superior club as witnessed by the many awards it has received.
