Long closed pub that is now reopen under its original name. The bar runs almost the whole length of the pub on the left hand side, the right hand side is mainly seating. There were a load of characters in the pub during my Saturday evening visit and I ended up chatting to one older guy in his 80s for quite a while. 8 handpumps on the bar serving a fairly safe selection of ales, but not as mundane as the ones Al noted below. Maybe they've got a bit more adventurous since his visit. My pint of Hopback Pacific Jade was in good nick. A good addition to the drinking scene in this part of Derby.

When i first went in this pub back in 1982 it was a Bass tied house and called the Lord Nelson,so it is nice to see it open again and back to its original name.
Once inside there is now a single long oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the bar is on the front left side as you enter, the seating is normal tables and chairs down the right side, with some more seating is a small area to the far right.
There was eight pumps on the bar with seven in use,i had a drink of Sharps Atlantic which went down well, the other real ales noted were Pedigree,Doom Bar,Ruddles Best GK London Glory,GK IPA and one more i failed to read my notes of.
The pub was quite busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
It is very nice to see an old pub like this open again and back to its original name, will the ex Buck in the Park be the next to reopen which was opposite the Lord Nelson,i hope!
