Alan Winfield left this review about The Villager

The Villager is a pretty ordinary looking pub from the outside.
Once inside there was a smart lounge to the left, this room was oblong in shape, there were comfy bench seating with small tables and stools, the room was carpeted, there was a TV showing music videos, there was a smaller room to the right which was empty on my Saturday dinner visit, plus a seperate pool room to the rear.
There were two real ales on the bar both from Dancing Duck brewery, the very friendly landlady offered me a taster and then gave me a try of both beers which were both very nice,i had a half of Dancing Duck Aye Up which went down very well, the other beer was Dancing Duck Restoration.
I had a chat with the landlady and her friend who were very helpfull and also very friendly.
I really liked the beer here and also enjoyed my time here.
This pub was called the New Inn when i first went in it,it was a Shipstones tied house with a very nice drink of Shippos bitter on the bar.
