Judging by the name, this was presumably once a bank, although it must have been a small one as it's not like some of the huge pubs which often result from such conversions. It's a compact, one room, wooden floored bar/lounge with a semi-circular bar, looking on to one of the main streets of the town centre. At the back, there is also a heated outdoor smoking area. There is a good choice of lagers, with Tennents, Carsberg, Carling and Stella Artois all on draught. Belhaven Best is the sole draught heavy, but Guinness is, as usual, also available.

This looks like another high street conversion, like so many pubs in Airdrie it seems. The bar occupies the ground floor of a large building, and there is a nightclub operating as part of the premises of the pub. It’s a fairly basic pub; mainly bare-boarded but with some tartan carpeting around the sides. Seating is mainly banquettes and normal tables and chairs, but with some high stools at the bar and at a ledge on the right. We sat at a couple of the stools at the ledge, which turned out to be the stickiest ledge that I had ever encountered, with even my notebook sticking in to it. You certainly wouldn’t want to touch or rest your elbow on it. There was a TV on, but muted, and some pop music being played. There were a good number of people in there when I dropped in just after noon, which probably means that it’s a mainstay of the Airdrie social scene. There was no real ale of course, with Belhaven Best keg bitter being the best bet. With some decent ale, and some of the surfaces given a good clean, it would be a decent enough pub.
