Supposedly a fake Irish pub but little Irish or even oirsh-ness about the place. It does have lots of dark wood, lots of screens and old fashioned gold signs. Four pulls but only Cains Raisin Beer and Cumbrian Loweswater which was almost off. Still I’ve been to it and don’t have to again.

Corner pub attached to a hotel and set back from the main Lord Street drag. The narrow street in front of the hotel has been blocked off to traffic and filled with tables, presumably a vestige of Covid time.

This place felt more pub-like than its sister venue in Liverpool and definitely had an Irish theme. We were pleasantly surprised to find 4 real ales - Ossett White Rat, Salopian Shropshire Gold, Cameron's Road Crew & Titanic Plum Porter.

Only a handful of other people in. It is perhaps more atmospheric on a weekend evening. Nevertheless, a decent start to our afternoon.

As Al says this is a fake Oirish bar, however there's very little around the place to show that it is. It's all pretty generic, although very nicely done. It now sells a range of cask ales, nothing unusual, but my pint was in good nick. Quite peaceful on our Tuesday night visit and to be honest quite pleasant for a half hour visit. We'd happily call in again for one.

Now called Punch Tarmeys and allegedly an Irish bar. Its an open plan pub with a wall splitting it into 2 areas before you get to the bar. Bare floored and, admittedly, tastefully decored. No real ale on the bar, though its not too bad a place. Probably full of dickheads of a weekend but not too bad this midweek visit. A single visit is, however, enough.
