It was quite lively when I called in here early on a weekday evening. Three of the four hand pumps had beers on: Abbeydale Absolution, Old Mill Blonde Bombshell and Exmoor Gold, a good spread strengthwise, but all at the pale end of the beer spectrum. There was a crowd of after-work drinkers around the bar, but the rest of the pub was deserted. I sat in the extension which is slightly lower than the rest of the pub, being on the downhill side of the building and overlooking the garden, which would be formidably steep if it wasn't terraced. There are some bench tables out there and I expect it would be a pleasant spot on a sunny afternoon. Overall, not a bad little pub, but at £3.10 a pint rather expensive compared to what I'm used to paying in Sheffield.

This squarish stone built pub is at the top end of Grenoside and on the main road to the M1.
I was'nt hopefull of getting a decent drink in this pub so when i went in i was surprised to see four handpumps on the bar i had a drink of Abbeydale Moonshine which was a really nice drink there was also Taylor Landlord,John Smiths Magnet and Greene King IPA.
THe pub was fairly quiet on my visit and it was a decent and comfortable pub to have a drink in,there was also good views towards Ecclesfield.
I would also like to thank the landlord for showing me which footpaths to walk along to get to Ecclesfield.
