A cosy little stone-built pub retaining a two room layout. The left hand side is a fairly plush bar, with stone walls, while the right hand side is a smartly laid-up dining area. Garden at rear. Draught beers were Tribute and Lushingtons.

I live locally and am a frequent visitor to the New Inn. Since Nigel & Ange took over a few years ago The New Inn has become a very good local pub. The beer is always well kept with an interesting selection of guest beers. A very good choice of well cooked, locally sourced food makes a visit to Wendron a must.

Caught the 34 bus from Redruth yesterday to visit this 2011 Good Beer Guide pub, and found it to be a cosy friendly pub. 2 people were having a meal and there was one of the locals chatting to them with the landlord. There were 3 ales available, and we chose Skinners Betty Stogs and Dartmoor Friggin, both served in excellent condition. Food menu looked good, but time we had before the next bus to Helston limited our choice to soup, and it was a very tasty mushroom soup served up with thick bread and loads of butter. The bar area was clean and tidy, and the room behind was laid out as a restaurant. There is a beer garden for sunny days.

Decent little place out in the sticks halfwayish between Helston and Redruth. We arrived here by accident when attempting to visit the nearby Poldark tin mine museum which was shut, so we ended up at the pub looking for a taxi and a quick pint.

The interior is horseshoe-shaped, cosy and tidy without necessarily being memorable - though the fact we were there mid-afternoon on a weekday probably didn't help as there were only two other customers. A couple of Cornish ales were on (a Skinners and a St Austell) my half was in perfectly fine, so no complaints there. Landlord was friendly enough given we were clearly there to get to grab a taxi and a quick beer. Food was available and the local radio was on in the background.

Not bad for a pub entered through desperation. I'd say it's worth a stop if nearby and I'd try it again.
