According to its former landlord (now resident at the Victoria in town) this place has been flogged by Admiral and a Sainsburys will be appearing in its place soon. Shame.
June 2008
Classic cliché estate pub, complete with growling dog at the bar. Serves one real ale (I saw GK IPA there though too late for me to sample as I'd already ordered a Guinness). Also a few old pump clips by the bar seem to attest to there being a bit of beer variety occasionally. The assembled punters didn't seem to mind two interlopers into their clearly locals-only local much - they seemed to regard us a curiosity. Amenities-wise, the pub has a garden, TV and pool table. The inside could do with a lick of paint though. OK for what it is but I wouldn't be heading back again.
