After a brief time as Harty's, this has now reverted to the name Capo's and is again open as a pub. Don't be deterred by signs on the side walls saying “Restaurant and Guest House,” as there is also a public bar, through the door saying “Bar Entrance.” Despite the name changes and reported closure, it doesn't appear to have changed much, if at all, since my last visit, with the bar occupying the largest portion of the ground floor and the, slightly smaller, restaurant through a connecting door at the side. The accommodation area is upstairs. There is also a raised area set aside for dining within the bar itself. There is a small, sheltered smoking area outside the bar and a spacious and very impressive beer garden at the rear, beside the large car park. A pint of Tennent's lager cost me £3.10 and Carling lager, Belhaven Best, Guinness and Strongbow cider are also on draught.

With the exception of the Hilton Hotel, this is probably the most expensive place in town, at £2.90 for a pint of Guinness, although that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Meals are served until 9.00 p.m. and there is a separate restaurant next to the bar. It can be very lively, especially at weekends, when DJs provide entertainment in the bar which stays open until 2.00 a.m. Accommodation is available upstairs, although it must be difficult to get to sleep at times. There is an extensive, leafy beer garden at the rear, with a children’s play area. It even hosts barbeques in summer, on the rare occasions when the weather here permits.
