Undoubtedly nothing has changed since the previous review, this unfortunately still being a Greedy Kerching outlet, but worse in that it’s part – almost literally – of their Hungry Horse stable, displaying on approach, a huge colour montage of the microwave fare served within, by way of an introduction to a large, soulless concrete beer patio-cum-car park.
Yup, it’s a bit like a downmarket Wetherspoon’s, but with more sport than Dickie Davies could shake a stick at, pool, sticky and/or uncleared tables with plastic pictorial menus, a folded crisp packet jammed between the two tables where I was sat, the myriad unpleasantries augmented by fairground-style pay-and-grab machines, where if lucky, the player is rewarded with a cuddly toy or some such along with what looked like a jelly bean dispenser, joy further enhanced by a children’s’ birthday party in full swing, all in attendance wearing silly paper hats and all blowing bloody annoying party horns. Furniture and flooring are a mix of styles and zoned, décor amounting to prints of Oxford from yesteryear. Customers are still loud, a bit chavvy, but otherwise Brookes’ students, the pub sandwiched between its two main campuses; drag cabaret is advertised.
Alongside a charming bar mounted slushy churner and Malibu advertised as served in hollowed out coconuts, ales amounted to the usual unappealing GK suspects, me opting for a half of Guinness, price forgotten, but still served by one of the couldn’t-give-a-toss teenage barmaids, mine sporting hideous two-inch acid yellow fingernail extensions, looking for all the world like a bird of prey’s talons.
Along with the Old Black Horse (bottom of the hill) and Bullingdon, this place vies for the title of Oxford’s Worst Pub, a different marking system seemingly giving a higher rating than the previous reviewer, this being a superficial discrepancy, this too being the worst pub I've visited this year.

An utter disaster zone. Large and dull interior. Full (and I mean full) of shouty blokes, it was like being ringside at a title fight. Useless unmanaged teenage staff with barely a brain cell between them. A grab-and-go job then; picked a murky GK IPA which was grudgingly swapped for a Ruddles which tasted like a tramp's sleeping bag. At that point I gave up and walked out. Worst pub I've been in this year. Quite how it had so many customers is a mystery.
