Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Caledonian

This pub on the outskirts of Brechin has a couple of entrances. The right-hand side was completely closed up and I'd walked straight past the other entrance not realising it was also part of the pub. Returning, I realised that they were actually the same premises.

A notice on arrival highlighted that the pub was closed for a private party. Luckily that had been for the day before. Whilst many of the tables had reserved signs for diners, there were still available tables for drinkers.

The real ale on offer was a brand new beer from Mor, called Thirsty Footings, a New Zealand IPA. With not long to go before I needed to catch a flight back home from Aberdeen Airport, my visit was a little rushed. But I was still left with the impression that Brechin does have at least 2 decent real ale pubs to offer.
