A Robinson's pub offering Unicorn and Dizzy Blonde on cask. Some keg stuff available too including some non-Robinson's (eg Beavertown Neck Oil).

There is a small bar area, a small room at the front, a pool room to the rear and a further room off to the right (behind the bar) that I did not investigate. There is also a large covered beer garden to the side/rear in addition to three picnic tables out the front.

Service was slow due to there only being one member of staff and I got stuck behind a group of girls who were obviously out to get rat-arsed as they were ordering all sorts of combinations of drinks (including wine that had to be fetched from the cellar) before eventually making their way to the pool room.

An impressive building externally with dull beer inside - but I knew it was a Robinson's pub so I was prepared for that. No plans to rush back but happy to have tried it once.

Having found the nearby Joules pub hadn't opened and the people from the Beer Emporium on holiday I ended up trying this Robinson's pub. It came as a pleasant surprise consisting of a small tiled bar area with three small rooms off it. To the right is a carpeted room with a TV that was off and a few tables and stools. On the left there is what looks like a dining room followed by another room with mostly sofas. It all seems genuinely old and unspoilt.
The bar has four hand pumps which had one unused and Robinson's Unicorn, Wizard & Dizzy Blonde. I went for the Unicorn which was in excellent nick and under three quid a pint.
I thought this was a good pub but I was here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. It seems that at other times it concentrates on footbore, live music, karaoke and other rubbish that ruin so many pubs.

A very nice pub. Real ales for strokes and you can sit outside (just) in decent weather.

The Market Tavern is a Robinsons tied house that is on the market place.
This pub stands out as it is painted white and it is quite a nice pub inside with a couple of rooms that were comfortable and had an olde worlde feel to them.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Robinsons bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Robinsons Hatters mild.
