Soup Dragon left this review about Bar Eden (Eden Lodge Hotel)

A detached Edwardian (1905) undressed stone hotel, restaurant and bar, with a more modern extension, which does music evenings. It has a nice beer patio area. It is currently up for sale, although open. A former GBG listed place.

It has an integral L-shaped bar and dining room, which is in cream with a white/green and coffee coloured ceiling. There is a stone floor in the bar area and a wood floor in the dining area. The odd sofa appears near the tabled dining area. The bar section has a pool table and dart board at one end, up past the stone faced serving bar. The walls were adorned with landscapes and paintings, some of which appeared to be for sale. There was a TV, showing Sky news and the general music was at a decent level, supplied via a jukebox. I didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food. The service was very friendly and there were just a couple of locals in at my visit.

Beer; keg stuff, including a decent Peroni. There was Deuchars IPA – though this was settling, as well as a class Arran Blonde on handpull.

I thought this was a decent place, one of the highlights of Arran. I would be more than happy to return.
