Steve C left this review about TGI Friday

Like the other venues of this brand, TGI Friday is more American diner than public house, but as someone has chosen to include it on this site I will review it.

My visit was at 22:20 two nights ago (Sunday) because some members of my group wanted a nightcap before retiring to the adjacent Premier Inn. After some discussion with the bouncers we were permitted to enter with the knowledge that we only had ten minutes to order. A glance at the menu revealed that the American classic mains were priced between £12 and £20. We decided to order a couple of portions of chips to complement a couple of bottles of beer, two cocktails and a coke for the lightweight. I thought that £26 was a steep mark up on the alcohol, but this is a restaurant and not a boozer so I suppose that was to be expected.

TGI Friday is aimed more towards the younger generation so I wasn’t surprised to see young couples and groups sitting around the large tables. I didn’t find this place offensive, but I prefer to dine with grownups and I like to have access to draught beer. This is the sort of place I would take the kids for dinner and they would love it.

As a restaurant I would rate this place 7/10 and as a pub I would rate it 1/10 so it is probably best not to bother rating it at all.
