Along with the town's branch of Wetherspoon's, this pub also opens early (10am) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So, we were here early in order to fit in as many pubs as possible, given the earlier closing times we now have.
There are 2 rooms, with a central bar. We avoided the room with the crying baby and sat next to a TV screen, with live football about to be shown. There is a further seating area outdoors which is undercover and even has a pool table, if you're prepared to brush off the leaves.
The house beer here is Theakston's Bingham's Pride. The guest beer was Adnams Southwold Bitter.
Fairly run of the mill kind of place.

Situated at a busy crossroads, the White Lion is a smart pub with a new wooden floor and bar, drab green paint on the walls and modern "old" pub furniture. Exposed beams and joists are painted off-white, and there are b&w and sepia photos on the walls.
On the bar are two hand pumps, which at the time of our visit were serving Thwaites Pure Shores and Everards Artigianale, a pair of fairly undistinguished blonde beers. There's a Camra award displayed behind the bar and a 20p per pint discount for members.

On our visit, the pub has recently had a full redecoration. The pub has a plush and country pub style about it and serves two ales from Jennings Cumberland and Wainwright. Also has a good size beer garden at the rear, serves food.

The White Lion is on the corner of a busy junction.
The pub is painted white with green shutters outside i was'nt expecting any real ale here but surprised that there were two handpumps on the bar i car'nt remember what these were bit the drink i had was from a micro brewery and was very nice.The pub was quite comfortable but could have done with a bit of spruce up inside having said that i would come here again.
