Friendly much extended pub out in the sticks , the front entrance leads to a traditional bar area which has obviously had a few changes over the years , the decor is a mix of modern and traditional with a log burner in an old fireplace , i was not keen on the wood panel effect wall paper , a corridor leads out to the other rooms at the rear of the pub , it was only a flying visit so i did not explore to far but a large modern dining room was spied from the carpark .
Very quiet on my afternoon visit , usual keg taps and three handpulls with Marstons Pedigree , Fullers London Pride and a decent enough St Austell Tribute served by the chatty barman .
They have a Beer Festival held in one of the outbuildings every May .

The Black Cow has no front door you have to go in at the side of the pub we turned right and went in the room at the front of the pub this was fairly comfortable. This is a Marstons house and there were four handpumps on the bar i had Pedigree and this was very good there was also Hobgoblin on and a Marstons seasonal beer which the friendly landlord gave me a small drink of to try i think it was called Yellow Hammer a very light drink and this was ok.I really liked this pub and would have happily stayed for a few more the landlord was very helpfull telling us which pubs had closed down in the area, well worth a visit.
