Will Larter left this review about Kings Arms Hotel

My heart sinks when I see pubs painted in dark grey or black. This one's position on the western end of the Market Place spoils the look of the whole square, in my opinion. And it's just the same inside - not spoiling the whole square, obviously - just black. It was quiet when I walked in at about tea time on a Saturday - it was like a disco with no dancers. There were six hand pumps on the bar, but this is clearly not the drink of choice for the vast majority of the customers that were expected later. Just two beers on, but the Wainwright was past it and the Pedigree wasn't much better (NBSS 2.5 was perhaps a tad generous).

The kings Arms is a large pub at the top of the market place the main bar area is on the right as you enter this is a very large room with the bar on the left there are no real ales here the only bitter was Boddingtons smooth crap so it was a Guinness for me i thought the pub looked a bit tired inside and i would'nt go back here again.
