E TA left this review about Middlecroft

A large, single bar community centred pub in a residential area, The Middlecroft is housed in an impressive Edwardian building in its own grounds, the garden being a bit small but still usable. Sadly the grandeur of the building is not matched by its interior. The bar is carpeted and has a pool table, gaming machines, and a tv screen. Furniture consists mainly of wooden chair and tables, the room looks very square - it feels very 1980s, which is probably when it was last decorated. The locals and the pub dog were friendly enough, but it felt a bit lifeless. Only one ale on - Oakleaf's Some Are Drinking, which was in very good condition and most refreshing. If I were passing I'd pop in for a pint.
