Alan Winfield left this review about The Anglers Arms

The Anglers Arms was a large pub that was built in the late 30s.
Once inside the pub had a few different rooms, there was a basic bar and a smart and comfortable lounge plus a seperate pool room and a concert room.
The pub was a Kimberley tied house and had two real ales on the bar,on my visits here i usually had Kimberley bitter which was a decent drink.
I played my last competetive game of pool here, after getting bored watching my opponent tip tap balls, i potted the black halfway through the game.
This was a decent pub that served the concil estate to the south of Spondon village.
It is a great shame that this pub has been pulled down for housing.

Sad to see, this is another pub closed, it was being demolished when I passed it on the 6th Feb 2010.
