The Woodthorpe Inn is a smart looking estate type pub that is on the edge of a largish estate to the north of Clay Cross.
Once inside the pub had two seperate rooms, there was a smart looking lounge to the front which was oblong in shape, this room was bare boarded and had comfy bench seating facing the bar and modern looking tables and chairs, the bar room was straight forward and was similar in shape to the lounge,it had comfy bench seating and a bar football table near the entrance with the pool table and darts board to the rear.
I sat in the lounge because the bar was too busy.
I think this pub is a GK tied house, there were two real als on the bar,i had a drink of GK London Glory which was quite cheap and went down very well, the other beer was Old Speckled Hen.
There was some really good indie music playing which i like to listen to and there was a well kept garden to the right of the pub.
I really liked this place and could have happily spent some time in here.

3 decent beers on. Very down to earth locals, did feel a little bit dodgy at first but reasonably friendly. Does serve food and menu looks good but haven't tried any yet. Does allow dogs in after food has finished being served (usually about 8pm)
