E TA left this review about Wheatsheaf Inn

Originally a 17th Century building, a mix of flagstone and wooden floors and a rather odd stream running through the middle, complete with ornamental bridge and rock garden, this village pub is just outside Salisbury and easy to reach by people carrier. It concentrates on the removal of money from families' pockets through the vehicle of formulaic meals served in a quaint setting, so has lost much of its rural charm. There is a large garden with a children's play area and a large car park. Service is extremely slow, and the staff are rather indifferent to the levels of enjoyment the customers actually experience. Food is pretty average and overpriced, but a mixture of seating makes it quite comfortable, if a little noisy. Only one ale on - Firkin Fox - which was actually in good condition and very pleasant to drink. I will come back as the beer is ok, but it's best to avoid busy meal times.
