Located at the far end of Cottingham’s main thoroughfare, this is a fairly upmarket pub in a fairly upmarket area. Modern and staple shaped interior with the right side for dining (empty) and the left for wet sales. Lots of twigs with lights wound in and a bright but neutral colour scheme. Six pumps with three ales on; Ringwood Boon Doggle, Hobgoblin Gold and Blue Bell Bitter brewed by Brakspear (good). GBG18 listed but it's not the kind of place you'd make a special trip for unless you were trying to charm an Ocado-shopping local over gin and twigs.

Modernised local pub, now largely aimed at food but retaining a comfortable 'drinking' area with armchairs. Restaurant side very popular (booking recommended)which must mean the food is good. Reasonable range of beers from Marstons too and regularly listed in CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Regular live music. Beer garden at rear.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Blue Bell

The Blue Bell is at the far end of Cottinghams main street and it is in a nice location opposite the village green.
Once inside the pub had been opened out into one room with a dining type area to the right and a more traditional drinking area to the left this area was comfortable enough and there was a largish group of bikers having a drink here but the pub seemed friendly enough, this pub was a Marstons house but there were no signs saying this outside there were four real ales on the bar i had a drink of Jennings Cumberland and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Pedigree, Banks's bitter and Hobgoblin.
I thought this was quite a nice comfortable pub and i was happy enough having a drink in here.
