No problem for us getting moored up for this pub, but then we were just pootling about in a small day boat and were just stopping for a pint.
Pub still as described by reviewers below and not many in (and absolutely zero in the garden as it was a cold cloudy day). Two pumps in operation with Doombar and Adnams Ghostship and the latter was perfectly fine. Won’t rate it as our fleeting visit was too short to really judge this one.

Possibly Norfolk’s least welcoming pub, this riverside pub refused to let us moor even for a quick pint, saying that all their moorings were reserved (they remained empty for 2 days) and wouldn’t let dogs in. The staff were very brusque when we did go in, dogless, saying their dining facilities were fully booked even though more than half their tables were empty for the whole time we sat there drinking. The garden fronts the river, and is quite pleasant though we were driven back inside by excessive smoke and yobbish behaviour from other customers. Inside, there are 2 bars decorated with various bric-a-brac and showing exposed architectural features; the building dates from the 19th Century. Atmosphere inside was lacking, it felt like an old people’s home, a stark contrast to the ribaldry outside. There were 3 ales on, Southwold, Ghost Ship and Abbott, all three of which were in good condition. Really not worth making the effort.

We visited the New Inn one afternoon during the week and it was very quiet which is unusual, but it meant we could sit inside for the first time. It is so different from the outside area and is traditional and a nice place to sit. The only draft beers available were Woodforde’s Wherry, Adnams Bitter or Abbott Ale, so I chose Carlsberg. A nice riverside pub, but normally very busy.

We visited here again while on holiday. Inside is still nice, and the outside still feels like you are sitting at the end of a seaside pier. Adnams Bitter, Woodforde’s Wherry and Abbott Ale were available. Worth a visit as it is next to the river, but it can get very busy.

This is a pub of two halves. Inside it is original and a nice place to be in. Outside, (as you can see from the photos,) they have modernised it to take advantage of the riverside location. There is a covered patio, which unfortunately has piped music, an amusement arcade and a covered pool table. Food is popular, the portions are generous and the prices reasonable. However, £3.10 for Greene King IPA is a bit toppy. We visited on the first really hot day in June and it was very busy, which it tends to be during the holiday season.
