The Railway at Loudham as the name suggest is right next to the platform at Loudham station a short walk from the main road. This pub has had a major renovation a few years ago and has been totally transformed inside. Judging by the beer range I Think this is owned by Heineken under their Star pubs banner but in name inly as this seems to be more independent than most of their places. The inside has one large bar area with the bar running along the length of the room with a large dining area down level at the back and another all dining room through a doorway to the right. This is most defiantly a gastro dining pub/restaurant first and a boozer second. The decor is extremely modern with hard wood floors and exposed brick and the like. Aside from the genral keg stuff and Moretti were 5 hand pulls serving Theakstons bitter (off) castle rock’s harvest pale, Osset brewery’s blonde, and otter bitter. The Osset and Otter were kept ok but horrendously priced at £3.90 for this part of the world. They had a tv screen but refused to turn the volume on for the football because there was 1 (I REPEAT 1) couple in the back dining room (a completely separate room) eating and didn’t want to disturb them. Drinkers are really made to feel second best here. It’s a nice looking place (Bit too modern and I’ve heard really good things about the food here but I’m not sure id bother going again has a nice beer garden at the back so maybe in nice weather

A large pub very close to the station. The pub consists of a long L shaped bar as you enter with a coal fire on the left. There was another room set out for dining on the right. To the rear you walk down a few steps to more seating with a pool table and TV. Friendly and chatty staff. Five handpumps, I went for the Adnams Bitter.
