Large pub but nothing special. No ales on so it was a quick visit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Plume of Feathers

Substantial roadhouse, now a Stonehouse 'Pizza & Carvery' establishment but retaining a large general bar and front seating area in addition to the separate restaurant. Anonymous semi-modern furniture and decor in all parts. Small rear patio. Just Doom Bar (£2.90) available from the three handpumps. Very dull...

A Large detached brick built Crown Carvery pub, with outside rear patio

The interior is divided into three areas and of course the carvery is the biggest element; however, there is also a large loung and a small bar. I didnt go into the carvery, but the lounge circles around the bar and is in the familiar single-coloured plain walls, with brown, salmon and mustard featuring heavily. There was a mix of half-backed comfy seats and high stools, with Sky Sports and general pop music, at a decent level, for amusement. The pictures on the walls were mainly old local photographs. The bar was a little scruffy and in what was once white and green. It too had Sky and a dart board. The service was functional, the clientele mixed and small - but it was early.

Beer; a lot of keg stuff, several lagers and even M&B MILD. On handpul there was GK IPA and Pedigree. I simply had coke as i walked in at 11am, when it seemes to have opened, to avoid shopping.

In many ways the best of the Crown Carvery places i have been for a bit of character in the building. Of course, this places is set up for food and i didn't eat - the beer didnt seem inspiring to a MILD/Real Ale fan, but a keg drinker would be happy - the prices seemed quite cheap - the GK IPA was £1.75.
