Steve C left this review about Red Lion

The Red Lion is a large JW Lees pub with picnic tables on a large patio area out the front and a huge grass covered beer garden at the rear where more picnic tables can be found. Seating is found either side of the front entrance, the ceiling is low here so this must have been the original pub before being extended rearwards. On the right-hand wall is a U-shaped bar counter that supports Standard and premium keg alongside two banks of three duplicate hand pumps that were drawing JW Lees Bitter, MPA and Summer Pale. In the rear of the pub is open plan seating and in the left rear corner is a dining / function room. This place is OK for a quick pint, but then again maybe it’s a little too dry led for my liking.

The Red Lion is a very nice looking pub that has got a long frontage, once inside there were quite a few different rooms and i had a drink in a room that was like a lounge this room had an olde worlde feel to it with small tables and chairs and had a cosy feel to it.
The pub is a Marstons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Marstons Pedigree and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Marstons bitter.
This is a fairly upmarket pub but i was happy enough having a drink in here.
