E TA left this review about Royal Norfolk Hotel

A Victorian seaside hotel, very grand in its day, now appears divided into several businesses: there is the pub itself, which still operates as a hotel, a restaurant (Fat Larry's) and various other things. The important bit is the bar, which, surprisingly, is very much a decent local pub. It goes all the way from the front, back into an extension and adjoins a small rear terrace with chairs and tables for al fresco drinkers and smokers. There is a pool table, gaming machines and a TV screen. The pub has a decent selection of malt whiskies, two real ales and a good selection of bottled beers. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The ales are sold at a discounted price - £2.90 a pint. I had a pint of Moles Tap which was most enjoyable. A very friendly local in which to while away a few hours and a nice complement to the other two pubs in Sandgate.
