Quinno _ left this review about George Borrow Hotel

First revisit for many years. We ended-up outside as we managed to bag a seat in the garden with the view back down through the A44 corridor into the beautifully desolate Cambrian Mountains, not a bad way to see out the late afternoon. No cask, and the barman struggled to tell me what the keg was that I ended-up with (it was rubbish, whatever it was – I suspect Worthington). Ate dinner here and the mains were nice enough, no complaints, though the puddings were best avoided. Did manage a brief foray inside and it doesn’t feel like too much has changed in the intervening time period, seems pretty much as I remembered with a small front area and the main bar.

Last real bit of civilization before the mountain pass kicks in out of Aber on the A44. This is a quiet two-room hotel bar. Stocks a token ale (Felinfoel) but more impressively has a number of interesting bottled real Welsh ciders. Lacks atmosphere. Serves food. Rated 5
