A great looking pub in a picturesque village. We sat in the large beer garden as they were setting up for a party in the function room. Ales available were St Austell's Proper Job and 3 from the Otter Brewery, namely – Ale, Amber and Bitter.

A very picturesque and welcoming village inn with plenty of character. There is a small car park at the side, but the garden is a bit small though has a reasonable view. Inside, there is a decent sized main bar with a large stone fireplace, exposed timbers and a selection of comfy chairs. A second room has been turned into a restaurant, pleasant and also comfortable. The young staff are engaging and helpful, while the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming to locals and strangers alike. They host regular functions for the village as well as private functions such as weddings, club dinners and so on. The food is freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Ales on were 3 from Otter – Ale, Amber and Bitter, plus Quantock QPA. There are some great country pubs in this area, and this is one of them – well worth including in a country crawl, though if cycling the hills might be a bit challenging. I’d be very happy to come back any time.

We stumbled across this fantastic pub last week when we stayed in Taunton.

I cant recommend enough that you try the food! Its absolutely fantastic and the servings are huge so make sure you're hungry.

Everything they service is locally produced and sourced, even down tot he ice cream which is made anout 2 miles up the road from the pub.

The staff are incredibly frienldy and nothing at all is too much trouble. I was even show the skittle alley which is over 100 years old! Its great and i was pretty good too :o)

This is definitely a pub thats well worth seeking out. Theres loads of parking too.

You wont be dissapointed!
