Bucking Fastard left this review about The Spur

Attractive coaching inn with a small bar immediately infront of the entrance. To the left is more of a drinking area with a small wood burner and then a seperate room housing a pool table. To the right is an area with a central fireplace surrounded by oblong tables mainly used by folk eating from the bar food menu.Further round this side is a very traditional and upmarket restaurant area, which seems to be used mainly in the evening, although it can be booked for functions. There is also a skittles alley and this can also be reserved. The focus is on food and the bar menu has mains priced between £9 and £11 which is fully justified by the excellent cooking.Deserts £4.50 also top notch. The restaurant menu is more elaborate and mains are £15 -£22,I would imagine £50 per head for a full meal with wine is the mark.On the beer front there are two handpumps with Courage Directors and Sharp's Doom Bar in good condition and although you can just pop in for a drink, this is not really the place for a heavy session. There is a good looking garden .Very popular when Fontwell races are on ,this upmarket establishment absolutely does deliver on the food front.
