An estate pub not far off Holderness Road, with a rough look about it externally, being surrounded by a litter-strewn and deserted shopping centre car park. Once through the doors it was comfortable and welcoming, and with real ale too! There are two hand pumps with just one beer on at the time of my visit: Box Steam Gym Dodger 3.2%, which was an easily quaffed beer in very good condition. None of the others present were drinking it, although my half only cost me £1 (normally £2.50 a pint, but this one having a lower abv was cheaper). The licensee seems competent as well as friendly, and pulled off what had been sitting in the lines overnight before serving me and then enlightening me about the beer's origins (the brewery name not being on the ad hoc pump clip). The banter of the regulars was interrupted from time to time by a random play on the juke box, at what to me seemed like excessive volume, but apart from that this seemed like a comfortable pub, with bench seating in good nick and the place being decorated in good taste, if you don't mind football flags and fake marble.

This is an estate pub thats hard to find if you dont live locally,it was very busy on my visit in the bar at the front, there are no real ales just John Smiths smooth and Worthington
