Another Wetherspoons' cinema conversion that is certainly spacious inside. There is also plenty of seating on an outdoor patio at the rear.

The real ale selection seems to be gradually picking up in branches of Wetherspoon's. This one had 2 guests to supplement the Ruddles Best. These were Adnams Ghost Ship & Portobello Star. There was no real cider.

As usual, the app failed to work for me. Luckily, it worked for Mrs S. After 10-15 minutes of waiting for our drinks, a member of staff came to take our order! Luckily, the drinks arrived shortly after. Despite there being plenty of staff and there not appearing to be too many customers, service did seem a bit slow and disorganised.

Certainly an impressive building, but the service and drinks choice lets it down in present times.

Impressive cinema conversion just up from the train station. Friendly service with guests from Sadlers and Lymestone which were fine. I like the old motorbike up on the wall - hence the name Royal Enfield. Worth a visit.

The Royal Enfield is a Wetherspoons pub that is fairly close to Redditch Train station,so handy for me to get my first drink of my crawl round Redditch.
It looks like an old cinema from the outside.
Once inside there is a large room with an island bar close to the entrance, there are slight raised areas on each side of the room, the room is carpeted and had the usual Wetherspoons seating.
The guest beer choice was a bit poor and the service even worse with a long wait,i had a drink of Lymestone Son of Stone, which was a decent drink, the other beers noted were Saddlers Peaky Blinder,Old Speckled Hen,Doom Bar and GK IPA.
I was not that struck with this Wetherspoons.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royal Enfield (Lloyds No 1 Bar)

An odd Lloyds No 1 Bar in a cinema conversion that doesn't seem to have made very good use of the space. There is an island bar and side seating area - both under quite a low ceiling - just inside the entrance, but the main space between this and the kitchen counter is cavernous. Dark modern furniture and decor throughout. Also has a front patio terrace. Two banks of five handpumps, with three usual suspects - Doom Bar plus Greene King IPA and Abbot - but three better offerings from Backyard, Lymestone and Sadler's (JPA, £2.35).

This cinema conversion makes for a more interesting place to visit than the other JDW but the beer choice isn't as good. There's an island bar in the middle of the old cinema with tall tables near the bar and lower tables further away. There is a light rig and DJ booth at the back giving the game away that it's a Lloyds. For once the toilets are at ground level rather than up several flights of stairs.
The bar has two sets of five hand pumps with the front ones having Adnam's Redpoint Tai Pale Ale, Sadler's Worcestershire Sorceror, Jennings Golden Bee, Purity Mad Goose and Prescott Hill Climb. The rear five had two unused, GK IPA & Abbot and a repeat of the Redpoint which I tried and was in excellent condition. This JDW is reasonably OK for a Lloyds. Given it's fairly close proximity to the other JDW I hope it's not earmarked for closure.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Royal Enfield (JD Wetherspoon)

This Spoons is housed in the old cinema house and is crossed between a typical Spoons at the front, with the rear section looking more in line with a Lloyds No 1. The pubs theme is all about the history of the Royal Enfield motorbike that used to be manufactured down the road. They have two fine displays of the original bikes mounted on the wall brackets. I have to say this Spoons was run like clockwork, the service was fast and friendly and the pub had a good atmosphere.
There were 10 handpumps, including a cider, I had a very good pint of Byatt's Phoenix Gold, top class indeed. I noticed a young trendy hipster chap with his tablet, seated near the front with an elderly man. It turned out the older man was helping the younger guy with some technical info, in developing a bespoke motorbike. No paper work or a laptop with the older guy, all his info was from memory and he was also enjoying a pint of ale, nice one. Also, this Spoons is only 5 mins walk from the train station and the good thing is, it's downhill on the way back.
