Greene King pub by the station, as the name suggests. Fairly basic, two rooms knocked into one with the original doorway remaining in the staple shape. Starkly decorated and lit with little of note but very busy with youngsters. First barmaid asked if I was being served; I said no and she buggered off! The second was much better. GBG-listed though cask-wise it was two GK stagers and Tring Side Pocket, the latter served in a butt plug glass in average condition (NBSS 2.5). Useful for a swift one, which was the purpose of my visit, but not obviously GBG material.

A good steady wet-led traditional pub in a convenient location right opposite Bushey train station. We'll run by long-term tenants David and Elaine. Usually fairly busy in the daytime with a mixture of loyal older locals and tradespeople (conversation is 'lively', especially around politics and Covid!) Greene King pub but they seem to have some leeway with local Tring beers invariably being available. Significant price increase after lockdowns but £4.50 for a reliable pint of ale is perhaps not too bad.

Popped in for a quick one whilst killing some time before a suitable train to Euston and not a lot seems to have changed in the intervening six years since the last review.
The locals are still a friendly chatty bunch as is the current landlord, the teles are still on but with volume at a non obtrusive level and the ales are predominantly GK, with IPA on and Abbott reversed for my visit.
Fortunately the third pump had Hopback Summer Lightning on at a promotion price of £3.50 a pint, presumably to move the barrel. My pint certainly had an end of barrel feel to it but was still better than a pint of IPA would’ve been.
So still a decent corner pub close to Bushy station in which to grab a quick pint, especially now if you have a smart phone with the National rail app which will allow you to time your exit from the pub to perfection.
Only additional point to add is that the pub does not have a kitchen so there is no food available bar the usual range of bar snacks

This friendly Greene King pub is a good, lively local which, due to its location, also makes a good pitstop when leaving the railway station. The Victorian corner building has been knocked through to form a single, large U-shaped bar, although a change of flooring from wood to carpet remarks the 'saloon' area from the 'public'. The regulars were friendly and the staff pleasant and helpful. Large tv screens were the only real downside, but these were not too intrusive. Free wifi is available. Three ales on, all GK of course, but I did enjoy my pint of Fireside. Worth a visit, and I would include in a crawl.
