Quite a decent sized place, with a lounge area at the front left hand side of the entrance. A good sized lounge area at the back with a skylight positioned over the main seating area and the bar area on the right. The front of the bar had lots of various sized cupboard doors attached to it, which were painted in white and also featured the door handles. The skylight had cast iron pillars supporting it and were either original or reclaimed. Two beers on handpump, Tyne Bank Honey IPA and Cullercoats Shaggy Boat Blonde. We went for the Cullercoats, which was a good summer pale. This pub is more of an eatery as the young member of staff came running up to us with menus as we walked in.

Despite sounding like a clothing shop this is actually a smart bar. Interesting decor with lots of old furniture about, especially the bar counter which has drawers on the customer side. Some good art on the walls, several of which were for sale. It's all one room, but with a separate area at the front. Large windows make it very girly friendly and there were lots of yummy mummys in the place, several with kids, all of whom were well behaved. Kids are welcome until 9 p.m. I'd planned to call in here to get a decent glass of wine for the other half knowing that it had a couple of handpumps on the bar, so I'd have something to drink. I was pleasantly surprised to find that one of the beers was Cullercoats CF-133 Experimental Hop. I'd expected the beer to be more mainstream, very nice it was too. I liked this place much more than I'd expected and Ms CAMRA loved it. She liked the wine as well, so that was "job done". I'd certainly call in here again next time we're in Tynemouth. To be honest the other half liked it so much I suspect I wouldn't have a choice. :-))
