Steve C left this review about Quayside

The Quayside has a bar counter that runs up the left-hand wall facing a strip of parquet flooring before a couple of steps lead up to raised seating in the large right hand side of the pub. Around the windowed exterior walls are a mix of booths and standard furniture and there is a central fireplace that breaks this seating area up. At the end of the bar to the rear is a pool table where patio doors lead to a small outside seating area. Televisions are located throughout and live football is advertised, as is karaoke on Thursday and Sundays from 20:00. There was nothing going in during my recent late midweek afternoon visit, other than really loud background music playing to an empty pub. The bar supports standard and premium keg alongside Camden Hells and a single hand pump that was drawing the local Tatton Brewery’s Tatton Gold. Food is also available, the burger costs £10.50. This pub is aimed at the young weekend crowd and as such isn’t somewhere I will be returning.

A fairly modernish interior makes up this corner pub. Open plan and fairly standard. There were 3 ales available today.

large and comfortable.
2 cheap cask ales on offer, hoping to build on cask
Great for sports
Televisions are on mute if there is no sport on, as it would not appeal to people who want lunch.
The music can be a bit tedious but the profile is chosen by head office to suit the days trade as is updated on a regular basis and is far better than having a music channel on.
Good food at a resonable price, prices from £2.99 and selected meals 2 for £6.25. Ale is a bit dearer than most. We feel we offer a good choice, we cant compete with wetherspoons, who can ?
It is one of the town centres new builds so therefore we dont ooze character compared to the other buildings, but we are due refurbishment which will put a different funky/tradition look to the building. We also maintain high standards of clenliness.
We aim to be a balenced business being all things to all people, a great food pub with sports during the day.
a nice evening drink with friends during those week nights.
A party pub for all those who want to let their hair down at the weekend, with DJ Scotty on a friday open till 1am and DJ Gary on a saturday open till 2am.
we also offer a great party service for birthdays, stag and hen parties, with great food & drink offers, also the choice to book an area of your choice for free !!!!!

A massive single room, slightly raised to the rear, rather reminiscent of a Wetherspoons in layout albeit with more subdued lighting and a considerably worse beer choice. Smith and Jones branded, cheap food and drinks deals, the pub probably appeals to a younger crowd in the evenings. Mixed seating including a few leather banquettes around the perimeter and in booths.
Three handpumps, two unclipped, one with Bombardier on. TVs on mute, banal music playing. If you like characterless barns then fair enough but even then you'd do much better to cross the road to The Penny Black where you at least get a good ale choice plus 'spoons prices. Dismal.
