Previously a JDW and called Eclipse, this converted shop sits in a row of similar shops on a busy shopping side road. The pub goes back deeper than you would expect, making it quite spacious inside, and it broadly consists of two halves. The front part has the bar counter and takes the form of a sports bar, while the back bar, reached up a short flight of steps, is more of a lounge and has lots of Irish clutter around as well as a dartboard. There is Sky Sports, and they hold regular quiz and poker nights. Only one ale on, which was wholly unmemorable and served grudgingly by not-very-welcoming barman. A good enough local, but not somewhere I'd wish to revisit.

Wellrun localtypifing the traditional local boozer.Best pint of guinness i had for ages, helping to wash down the lamb hotpot i had for lunch.Plenty of screens for sport, and by the looks of things plenty of weekend entertainment advertised. The thursday night quiz goes down well im told.Six large plasma screens so u have a good view of the football.Clean and tidy and v pleasant bar staff who make a stranger feel welcome,as does the BIG irish landlord who runs the pub the way pubs should be run, highly recommend this pub.
