The Ring O Bells looked closed as I approached, but then realized it’s set back from the main road by a small front parking area. Through the entrance is a central bar counter that serves via a hatch to the left and a U-shaped bar counter to the right. The left side was lights out during a recent midweek early evening visit, although I did note a dartboard in the left rear. I’m sure the suspicious woman working behind the bar would have turned the lights on if I’d pulled out some arrows. A television on the rear wall was updating the four locals at the bar with local news. Next to this TV is a curtain covered doorway that leads to a rear pool and dart area, as well as the toilets. Standard keg was available and the lone hand pump stood unused. Cash only. I thought this basic local’s boozer was very unwelcoming and I will walk past next time.

A former two up two down cottage on the outskirts of Dawley , set back from the road it is easy to miss . The pub has been extended over the years macking it much bigger than it looks , you enter down a narrow drive , a small smoking shelter to the right , the front door is very low so you need to duck , the interior was once two small rooms but the wall has been removed and replaced by the central bar with drinking areas all around it , the left is the more bar like with a dartboard and lots of trophies , there is a large TV to the back of the bar area , an extension to the rear has a pool table .
Only keg beer available , the usual fizz and Banks Bitter , service was OK as were the locals , which is rare in Dawley .
Its one of Dawleys better pubs but still not great
