ALASTAIR BARTER left this review about O’Neill’s

Was in for a pint of Jokers IPA yesterday and something to eat at O'Neill's. It was very busy downstairs though I still managed to get a seat - checked up on the upstairs bar. That was closed and that was the reason there were no customers. Shame they weren't serving there because there would have been more seats for drinking and dining. Hope that changes in the future. Still recommended though. I had sausages & 'Irish' mash with peas and veg.

Alastair Barter left this review about The Royal Scot

Noticed this week that the Royal Scot’s sign was taken down and builders were inside. Tonight I saw a new sign - it’s going to be called O’Neill’s. So it’s not open yet.

Large 2 floor 2 bar pub located close to a side entrance to Glasgow central station. A number of real ale taps but only 1 on during my visit. Food served.

E TA left this review about Goose

The Goose has the look and feel of a 'Spoons but isn't. This high street pub, not far from Central Station, is a lively, buzzing pub which caters for families and tourists alike and is popular with shoppers. It's spread over two floors joined by a quite impressive staircase. The staff were underexperienced but friendly, while most of the locals were pleasant. Food was fatty, cheap and poorly prepared (or as they call it in Glasgow "health food"). There were two ales on - I had a Harveystoun Blonde which was overgassed and inexpertely poured, but it was served at the right temperature and was otherwise in good condition. All things considered, this pub is better than you think on first impressions, and while there is better beer to be had nearby, I'd be happy to come back if passing.
