Steve C left this review about Slain's Castle

Slain’s Castle is a large dimly lit gothic themed pub over multiple levels with lots of booth seating and snugs. The upstairs area was closed off during my recent Monday afternoon visit. The bar in the right rear corner is stocked with standard keg and supports four hand pumps. Two of these were unused and the remaining two were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar. Cheap pub grub is available, but sticky tables that hadn’t been wiped since the night before and empties laying everywhere mean that I would never consider eating here.
A couple of plasma screens around the bar were showing muted The One Show, which I suppose made a change from the Sky Sports found in almost every other pub in Aberdeen. There was some background music playing and I spotted an advertisement for acoustic music nights every Friday. I imagine there is also live music/DJ on Saturdays as this is very much a student pub with a 1am weekend license. Tucked away in the rear of the pub is a pool table.
The ‘beer garden’ consists of some manky wooden furniture under a jumbrella at the top of the pub’s side door stairs. More a smoking area then beer garden! I think I will leave this pub to the students and worshippers of Nosferatu in the future.
