Will Larter left this review about Crown Inn

A popular village local, and the only one left in the village - the landlord moved here after the Steer Arms closed and the pub company refused his offer to buy it. He's a real ale enthusiast, being the proud sponsor of a local football team, Real Ale Crown FC. The pub itself is tucked away behind the church in this quiet village, and is an unprepossessing brick building of indeterminate age. Inside it's fairly basic, with a small central bar serving three small rooms: the public bar in front has red and black tiles on the floor, the lounge to the right is carpeted and the games room is to the left, with pool, darts and TV screen.

On the bar are seven hand pumps, with Old Rosie cider and six different real ales. At the time of my visit these were Batemans XB, Jennings Cocker Hoop, Brakspear Bitter, Bradfield Farmers Blonde, Tom Woods Park Mild and Glentworth American Hero IPA. I had the XB, which was perhaps a little tired, and the Tom Woods, which was in very good condition. Prices are reasonable and it was a pleasant surprise to find such a dedicated real ale pub in an out of the way place like this.
