Having seen online that this pub was due to close on 2nd July, I decided to pay it a visit. It's rather a nice estate pub with two rooms, one either side of the central bar. Right hand side marked as Games Room, so I went in the left. Very surprised to see a couple of hand pumps, one with a local beer on: Brampton Speciale; especially as the pub had been marked as having no real ale on both this site and on WhatPub. Not so surprising to find that it wasn't in special condition - it was somewhere between unpleasantly sweet and hinting at being nearly sour (NBSS 2). This is a smart, comfortable and friendly pub, and it's a great shame that it is to close.
