Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about White Lion

Two-room community pub, with an elongated rectangular bar on the corner and a smaller, irregularly shaped pool room / seating area with its own counter at one end of the servery. There is also another smaller room further back towards the toilets, but that's definitely not in regular use. No real ales sadly, with a solitary disused handpump, so just a quick John Smith's (£3.50) before heading onwards.

UPDATE: Two main irregular shaped rooms, with a small box room that has a dart board in. The main bar has a pool table and a TV, while the lounge had a big screen showing sport and a dart board. Both rooms are in red and while, with plates and pictures on the walls. I like this place as a pub (historically), but also as while it is a local's place it is always friendly. Music was at a decent level. I returned as there is real ale now, just a single pull with Sharp's Atlantic - which was fine (but dull of course). One for the locals and historians rather than ale enthusiasts.

March 2010: A fantastic looking white rendered detached corner pub with black paintwork and outdoor area.

The interior had two room, the lounge I did not see. The bar was an irregular design with a pool area and a small stage area. There was Sky TV and quite a bit of film memorabilia on the walls, which were red and cream in colour. There was a nice moulded ceiling giving something to what is now a pretty modern design. The service was friendly, the clientele small and mixed. The seating was a mix of perimeter seats and pouffes in red and black.

Beer; all tap stuff without even a MILD. No real ale, no call for it, the chap said, used to throw lots away – indeed, the beer mats were all around the bar as proof. Shame really, as the lack of beer choice means I wouldn’t go back.
